The AJ Bates lobby design was a collaboration between Angus Muir and Alexandra Heaney (formerly Out of the Dark), James Hardie Ltd. and Bates Surfaces Ltd. The team at Out of the Dark were responsible for designing a lobby for James Hardie to showcase their latest product Rawform, a highly reflective material.
The strategic use of lighting was fundamental in making the material come to life without creating to many reflections, which would have made photographing very difficult.
They were responsible for the centre-piece of the lobby, an interactive lighting installation with one hundred glass rods. The pendants were designed to react to audio waves and proximity sensors. The lights are designed to shimmer as people walk underneath them and when there is a shift in audio levels.
Angus Muir Design was engaged by Silo Park to create a Christmas Tree Forest in Silo6 at Silo Park for Auckland City Mission.
The industrial interior of Silo6 was softened by the presence of Christmas trees, arranged in a maze of colour and community.
The public were invited to share their message and support the Auckland City Mission for their Become Someone's Angel appeal by contributing to this ever-evolving Christmas forest. Thousands of people showed their support and helped to transform the forest.
Angus Muir Design was engaged by Copper Productions to create this balloon discovery trail for ASB Bank and the 175th Anniversary of Auckland City.
Angus Muir Design, in collaboration with Torque Digital, was engaged by The Loop Duty Free Auckland to transform their stores at the Auckland International Airport for Christmas 2015.
